| Label-EZ Used by Papa John's Restaurants
to Produce Higher Quality Maps |

Plainsboro,
New Jersey - October 14, 2003
The GIS and Mapping group at Papa Johns International,
headquartered in Louisville, KY. responsible for generating maps used by Papa
Johns restaurants for delivery and routing purposes, has implemented
a new map production system based around MapText, Inc.s Label-EZ
and Label-Edit software. Using the high- quality automated text
placement capabilities of Label-EZ, the group has efficiently served
the restaurants needs for high-quality and high-detail maps. The maps
are generated on demand from each restaurant and are used to provide accurate
restaurant delivery, routing and market-area analysis information.
Prior to procuring Label-EZ, Papa Johns
restaurant maps were being generated by manually placing various street and
institution labels in the appropriate locations using ArcView 3.x software,
requiring an average of six hours per map. The time spent in the manual labeling
was prohibitive to attempt to label all local streets on the maps, thereby
reducing the efficient usage of these maps. After exploring various options
for text placement (including outsourcing), the group selected MapText, Inc.s
products for their ability to generate high-quality output in a matter of
minutes, flexibility to handle different map types and ease of use.
With the new map production system, the GIS and mapping
group of Papa Johns has experienced improved quality text placement
in a significantly short period of time. The time spent on generating each
map has been reduced to less than two and one-half hours. The initial set-up
support and a two-day training session provided by MapTexts team helped
the group effectively utilize the power of Label-EZ and Label-Edit.
The use of Label-EZ and Label-Edit has allowed us to provide small
street detail with labels on the market maps, something that we were not able
to achieve in the past. This has made the maps easier for our operations team
to review and adjust the delivery areas, said Patty Farris, Papa
Johns Internationals GIS Manager. We are able to respond
to the requests from restaurant managers in an efficient manner and have even
expanded into providing maps for our European franchises.
