MapText Inc. has added several prestigious
clients to its worldwide customer base for SmartLabel, the company's
MapInfo-based labeling product.
Organizations that have recently purchased SmartLabel include a large
telecommunications company in Canada, a city council and a marketing company
in Australia, a national geological institute in Slovakia, and a
transportation company in northern Germany.
All of these organizations are using SmartLabel to create aesthetic
maps for printing and/or on-screen viewing, quickly and cost efficiently.
SmartLabel is an easy-to-use and fully integrated software package for
MapInfo users to display or print high-quality maps. The software is
compatible with MapInfo Professional v.7.0 or above. MapText's release of
SmartLabel generated great interest and intense feedback from MapInfo users in
need of high-quality label placement.
SmartLabel has two modes of operation: (1) dynamic and (2) static. In
the dynamic labeling mode the system automatically re-labels the map as the
user pans or zooms, thereby optimizing the placement of labels in the current
view. In the static mode, the user can provide a scale or map extent at which
the text placement should be done. SmartLabel has a simple and
easy-to-use interface in which the various placement capabilities are
illustrated by descriptive pictograms.
