Plainsboro,
New Jersey - May 10, 2006
MapText, Inc. has announced that the upcoming
release of Label-EZ, the Company's high-quality multi-GIS text
placement solution, will be compatible with Autodesk Map 3D 2006.
MapText responded to a strong market demand by providing a proven text
placement solution for Autodesk Map users. The number of engineers and
geospatial professionals who need a flexible way to integrate CAD and GIS
information is steadily increasing, especially in the utilities (electric,
gas, water), communications, environmental engineering, oil and gas,
agriculture, and natural resources industries. Users who create and maintain
maps and design infrastructure will benefit from the high-quality automated
text placement solution.
MapText's market-leading software system, Label-EZ, places text fully
automatically on maps of any scale and style according to the highest
cartographic standards and precise user preferences extremely quickly and
cost-effectively. This results in enormous time and cost savings for users.
Label-EZ provides users with conflict detection across all layers of
information. Users can set placement rules for individual layers and also
control the relative priority among layers.
The companion software to Label-EZ, Label-Edit, will also be compatible
with Autodesk Map 2006. Label-Edit is an extension that provides
enhanced editing functionality. Some of the key tools that users benefit from
provide capabilities to restore suppressed labels, highlight and decompose
labels, draw leader lines, as well as reposition, stack, and abbreviate
labels. The editing tools are developed using the link between the features
and the labels generated by Label-EZ.
MapText also plans to provide an update to support Autodesk Map 2007 in the
coming months for both Label-EZ and Label-Edit.
